Pony Hair is soft but strong, from mature animals at least 2 years of age. It is primarily used for scholastic grade brushes, but often blended with other hairs for inexpensive watercolor and touch-up brushes. Pony hair is coarse hair that doesn't form a good point and is used in the less expensive brushes.

This set includes 144 round styles and flat styles. Pony hair Flat style paint brushes are square ended and have easy maneuverability. Used for bold, sweeping strokes, or on edge for fine lines. Pony hair Round style paint brushes have a round or pointed tip and is useful for detail, wash, fills and thin to thick lines.  These pointed round tipped brushes are ideal for fine detail.
